My music video (MV) for the song Flickers was my first venture into video making. I commenced the production process with no knowledge of MV making. Hence, it was a bit of a daunting process. I have structured this exegesis under three main sections. The first is on narrative. The first section explores the relations between visuals and the song. I will establish that my MV has a complementary narrative. The first section will also explore how I employ certain visual symbols such as memento mori and Passivity/Activity to present my narrative. The second section of this exegesis dives into the intertextuality of my MV and the 1999 filmic adaptation of Fight Club. I will explore my nuanced approach on appropriating the cinematic style of Fight Club. Both sections 1 and 2 reveal my highly intertextual approach. The final section discusses the blurring of real and imaginary via a Baudrillardian lens. This exemplified by the sfx makeup and project management in my MV
